FAQ
My water looks clear and doesn’t smell bad, how do I know if it is safe?
The only true way to determine if a water supply is safe is to have a water analysis done by a professional laboratory or by your local Health Department. Water often may look, taste, and smell perfectly fine but can possibly harbor by products that are unsafe to consume. Water testing can range from a simple “general potability” test to much more extensive chemical testing. With our extensive knowledge of the problems in the local area, we would be happy to guide you in determining your testing needs. What is causing the red/brown staining to occur on my shower walls and in my toilets?
Iron occurs naturally in the groundwater here on Monrovia with certain areas having much higher concentrations than others. Iron, while being a problem aesthetically, is not considered to be harmful. Iron in the water will not only stain fixtures, tile, clothing, sidewalks, etc…..but will actually reduce the use able life of household appliances and will restrict the flow of water through the pipes.
Our home is served by public water and is generally pretty good but we just can’t live with the chlorine taste and odor, is there anything we can do to remedy that?
Absolutely. We carry systems of all sizes to filter the chlorine taste and odor from the water. Whether we do it on the main line of the house, or at individual faucets in the home, we have the solutions for you.We had our water tested and everything seems to be fine but I want to give my family the highest purity water possible, is there a system for us?
Of course. To get the highest purity water on a residential basis we recommend a reverse osmosis water filtration system. Such a system would provide ultra purified water to single taps in the home and to residential icemakers. Not only are they very affordable, they offer a high degree of protection from contaminants that may enter the water supply. We also offer numerous designer faucets to compliment nearly every finish made today. Our HANDYMAN says he has a great, cheap solution so do we really need a specialized company like North Brothers Plumbing?
Water treatment over the years has become a very specific field with years of knowledge and practical experience required to solve most dangerous water problems effectively. Undersizing or, worse yet, installing the wrong equipment would result in the contaminant still being left in the water. Water filtration and plumbing has been our only business since 2003. We don’t install tile, put in new windows, fix your lights or clean your swimming pool. We filter your water. You wouldn’t have your handyman fix your car so why let him try to fix your water problem?
Rates/Prices. What do you charge for plumbing service?
Service Fee: Our service fee is $89 and is secured with a credit/debit card before we send out a technician. This charge accounts for minor diagnosis needed, the travel time taken to get to your home and is nonrefundable, if our technician shows up to your home and no one is home, or the job was given to another company and we weren’t informed not to come.
Labor Costs: Priced at $59/month, members get up to a $425 discount once every month as needed.
Materials Used: If you find a “material” charge on your invoice it will show one total price for all materials used on your job. The materials used on your job have been marked up to account for our warranty should the part come with a manufacturer defect. Our vans are fully stocked with the most commonly used materials, but there are several parts that we just won’t have with us. The time to pick these materials up is already included in the markup.
Customer Parts: If a customer would like to supply their own parts this is no problem, however, we don’t warranty customer supplied parts in any way including additional labor costs required to remove and reinstall defective customer provided parts.
What services are included with a Plumbing Pass?

Is there a waiting period after I signup for a Plumbing Pass?
No, you can use your membership and the 15% discount immediately once you’ve joined.
Will I use my Plumbing Pass subscription?
There are homeowners who tend to ignore signs that they could use a plumber until things are completely broken and no longer working. If this is the case, we may not be a good fit for you. There will be some months that you won’t use it but on the occasions that you do, it will pay for itself and save you quite a bit of money.
What if I change my mind and want to cancel my Plumbing Pass?
Did you know most basic home insurance policies do not cover repair or replacement of plumbing systems due to normal wear and tear? That is why having a Plumbing Pass is important. However, should you decide to cancel, you may do so at any time by calling 626-605-1713 or by emailing us online at info@northbrothersplumbing.com
